It's time to bust the myth of heating the hosel before bending!
You would have to heat the metal to a cherry red color before the steel
becomes 'bendable" then after bending you must reheat the steel and let it air
cool to restore the temper.

They are hard. Maybe someone else can give you the way, because I can't.
But I wanted to comment on upgrading the bolt. If you strengthen it, what will
break instead? Maybe it's better to have the bolt be the "fusible link"?

Got half them done with extreme bending then the end stop of the Mitchel L&L
machine sheared a
