I second the flex-coupling for simplicity reason. Coupling is not the only place flex mechanism that may be design in a winch system. Choosing a fish line (mono-fil.. ?) to effect such function is another. If soft coupling or energy storage is a must by the shaft and not on winch line, you will b

Re: [RCSE] Hitec Feather RX

The Feather receivers are OK for slow fly electric, but for HLG and anything that ranges out, I would stick with the Hitec 555, they are bulletproof. The new JR 610 at 9 grams should be out next week, hopefully, and that should fill the bill for longer range, lightweight, HLG receivers for us J

[RCSE] CF rod in DAW 2m S1-26

2000-04-01 Thread Tord
I used a CF tube as a spine that doubled as sheaf for the elevator pushrod - bad idea, as the rod didn't compress like the rest in hard landings, so the last free inches of the pushrod got bent time and tine again! I would - if I built a new one - use 2-3 thin (1.2 mm) CF rods to stabilize the fu

A friend of mine(will call him Bill) had some of the first Feather Rx's out. There was a problem with the length of the antenna. This caused very limited range. He sent the Rx's back and had them fixed and recieved them back in less than a week. He says now they have same range as other Hitec Rx's
