Pete - Doesn't sound scary to me. With 4 clicks of extra up trim any well set up plane would pop off. The Hollyday 3 meter tubing should be ample to launch your plane. I'd try it again like you did before, it can only get better with the elevator trimmed down to the proper position. Be ready

Hey now, well it's that time of year again. The hawks are mating. They get very aggressive this time of year any "bird" they see is a threat to their airspace. They don't much care about non birds flying nearby however. When they follow my planes I just do a loop or roll or something total

Without actually seeing the launch, it is difficult to figure it out, but I'll try. 1.  Is the hook solid in the bottom of the plane? 2.  It sounds like the plane is nose heavy.  (4 clicks of down trim flying fast but flew fine with out the down trim in a hand launch) 3.  Hang the plane upside do

We had one of our local slopers lose an elevon to a hawk once...not a pretty site. Same thing, high speed dive after his Zagi. I really wish I could have taped that one! James >From: Monkey King <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: Jeff Nibler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Re: [RCS

It's a bit of a long shot, but a friend is going to bring a camcorder tomorrow to work. I looked up the mating season for Red Tailed Hawks, and it is March-May, heh. If we can get it on tape, I'll capture it to avi, compress it to mpeg, and post it somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed, er wa

Yea - sounds familiar. Check the longitudinal balance. The left wing might be heavy. It doesn't take much to cause this problem. Mark -Original Message- From: Pete S. [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, April 23, 2002 12:11 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [RCSE] I'm afraid of m

Seems like if you had to add down trim just to fly around, that may have been the problem right there. Generally, if you get in trouble after launch it helps to put the nose down a little to regain flying speed and control authority. Make sure you have those four clicks in next time! Sometimes on

I decided to leave the air quickly becuase this is my only HLG until I finish the one on my building board. My Chrysalis doesn't look much like a hawk, though it is the right size. The wing is covered in transparent red Monokote, and the rest of the plane is uncovered. It probably is mating

Hi Pete, The first thing I did was to look up the Condor on the NSP site to refresh my memory of the Condor. First thing I see is a plane with almost no LE sweep and a fair amount of TE Sweep (forward). The drawing shows a 230cm root chord (a bit under 10") A cg point is shown that is about
