A really good timer/caller will take care of the necessary things for a
pilot. A good timer/caller will know what his/her pilot requires. If a good
goat
is needed the timer/caller will find the goat. If a good beer is needed that
will also be provided. Sometimes a good swift kick in the ass

The SAFETY calls are concerning making others aware of what your pilot
is doing or is going to do. AND making your pilot aware of what others
are or are about to do. And, anything else that needs to be done in the
interest of SAFE flight

This is an excellent question and one that I have very strong feelings
about, so here goes:
First and foremost, the timer/caller is there for the safety of the
pilot/caller team. After getting the flyers radio and time card from the CD
the pilot only has to worry about getting the plane
