HLG pilots and timers: Be sure and wear long pants and bring mosquito
repellent for this weekend's contest. The August rain seeded a bumper
crop of mosquitos. They've never really been an issue before and I'm
not sure what's going on, but they were there in-force last weekend so
come prepare
The SJSF is having their last (really) winter indoor event on April 26
in Mount Laurel, NJ at 6:00 PM. We had such good turnout last time

I use an Edwards high vacuum pump and use 29.85 inches of vacuum (1 torr) on all my
foam core wings then put 120 lbs of lead on top
of the cores. I estimate the total load on the the cores to be about 2500 lbs. I've
never squashed a pink foam core. Anything
over 15 inches will probably do.

Why fiddle with intermediate performance planes. You want a plane that
can sky out from a handlaunch, easy to build, ugly, withstand pedal to
the floor on launch, and has won countless competitions, and less than

If it can happen it will. After flying my 3M stilletto for an hour I launched as
normal, Tx and Rx on. The Rx is a little loose in
the nose. Half way up the launch the plane drifts left and accelerates into a roll,
with no control. Strikes the ground inverted
at about 5 degrees shearing off
