heating the fuse gently with heat gun will allow you to twist the warp out
and holding it while it cools will set the position.
I did my eagle this way and had no problems. be sure to use only a little
heat and sight the fuse with the wingrod in to sight it in.

Your unhappiness with krylon comes from the longer drying time when compared
to lacquer. you just can't sand enamel paint in less than 4 days of drying.
Most of us who use krylon on mylars spray very light coats and avoid
sanding. This will leave a acceptable finish most of the time.
