I am soo glad to see that Barry learned everything I have been working to teach him about being a great supplier! I feel like a proud dad! I'll keep doing what I can to improve his supplier rating, but its hard work :-)
Congrats on getting your Super Ava. My personal opinion is that the regular AVA is more nimble in the air and during landings, it takes a man of superior skills and potential to get the 'super' part out of the Super AVA. I have managed, but then I'm....having more fun than most in the hobby :-) Okay so I show up at the TNT, and some of the guys are tossing their AVA's prior to the contest start, I put mine together and figure I'll give it a few myself, but on the way out some of the guys who have seen the mtv style video of its first hand tosses, commented that it was a good feat and a sweet video...so I figure I have to get a sky-out from one of the tosses, sort of to validate the video. I tossed it a few times toward the wind and one edge of the field and I picked up a couple of 2min low flights to a catch, but couldn't seem to hook what seemed like viable thermal candidates from where I was, so I walked back down wind near the winches, and as I got further away from the tree line up wind I could feel some good pieces pump past. I turned and gave it my best heave...about a tenth of what JW does with his full house ships :-( but good enough to hook up for a sky out! :-) I figure that was an omen, and sure enough, that day I got my first LSF 5 win! And by the way, Barry was a great supplier well before I met him and well before Super AVA's existed....comes with being a good guy :-).G Gordy Practice day tomorrow in Louisville...Tangerine or bust! Got my Super Ava today and it was shipped in typical Kennedy Composites shipping style. Enclosed in a snowboard case and it arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Karen and Barry. First task for the Super Ava is to help me finish LSF Level five. I only have to do the cross country and the 2 hr to finish. The plan is to do these during the weeks before and after the Febuary contest in Phoenix, AZ. Eat your heart out Gordy.
