You might check the phone book for a raptor rehab organization in your
area. We invite one to our club every other year. They bring a Eagle,
owls, falcons, and vultures and make a small presentation. The club
makes a donation to their organization and they have some really neat
t-shirts to sell
Our club meetings have two regular features that seems to draw repeat
turnout. (At least they keep bringing me back to the meetings). One,
a local Albuquerque hobby store, Hobbies 'n Stuff, graciously donates
gift certificates for which we hold a monthly drawing. It is the first
item on the agen

You guys are killin' me. There is now a grand total of ONE glider pilot in
my area. And I'm him.
Heck I have meetings all the time. With 100% attendance. Woohoo!
But the fellowship leave much to be desired.

Some of us are so lucky. You have clubs and meetings. I wish OKC had
enough folks interested enough to have a club and meetings. I'm jealous,

gets one hour to build, install, and test, then it's a fly-off for the best

I remember back when I flew with the SBSS group in San Jose we had a
build and fly an indoor H/L contest. If I remember right the club
provided the materials and the team brought the radio gear. I think
it was a one or 1.5 hour build. I remember being on the winning team
one year with a 30 seco
Latest project discussions are always fun. Also, people bringing their latest/greatest planes/equipment to show off can be fun too.
