Vertical tow doesn't put anywhere near the stress on a plane that a winch launch does.    Why try and pretend that a toy plane is the same as full scale anyway? If you want to fly something that looks like a full scale sailplane then go to the full scale airport and take a ride. Scale...sheesh.
