There was an interesting post about a missing Silent Flight issue last week.
I'm glad that the flyer will receive his missing issue. However, that is
not the case for the many subscribers to Silent Flight and other Nexus (UK)
publications. I have subscribed to it since Dave Jones was editor (it's
golden years), and have all issues in publishers binders. However, Vol.
7,#3, for April-June, '99 never arrived. I finally received a one-page
letter from an Alex McLean of Nexus, saying there had been a problem with
all US Nexus issues, and offering me a one-month extension on my
subscription. I called Wise Owl Worldwide Publications of SoCal (VERY nice
people) who explained that Nexus' new computer system deleted all US
subscribers and magazine shops. I E-mailed Mr McLean and also faxed his
boss on July 23, stating the situation, that I didn't want a one month
extension, I wanted the missing issue! As of this date, no response from
McLean or his boss, Jayne Hewish. Fortunately, in the interim, I was able
to obtain the back issue from a friend in England. (Since then, I also
received Vol.7, #4 from Nexus)
I understand that screw-ups do happen even to good firms, but Nexus'
cavalier disregard to what I feel is a legitimate request concerns me. I
know other flyers who received the same letter and just rolled over to it,
but if you subscribe and feel, as I did, that they should provide a better
explaination, and/or, a more satisfactory offer for the missing back issue,
please contact Mr. McLean at:

Thanks!
