For those of you who are interested in the 2009 World Air Games pilot rankings, as of Wednesday, June 18, the following was sent to me by Guy Revel, Chairman of the FAI/CIAM 2009 WAG selection committee:
The results and ranking are online since a couple of hours ago. http://wag2009.free.fr/ciam_sel_rank.htm#HTG http://wag2009.free.fr/ciam_sel_HTG_res.htm Additionally, he wrote: "I'm sure Oleg (Golovidov) and Paul (Anderson) will be invited, my guess at this point is that the cut off mark will be around 200 to 250 points, so one more contest could be helpful to Phil and I'm sure there is still room for one or two more US pilots (possibly more)." For those of who entered the Poway version of the USA National WAG Selection Contest, take note of your scores and then compare those with the scores you can get by just having a contest of 12 or so pilots. If you want to go to Turin, Italy next June, with your stay there being paid for by FAI/CIAM, you might want to consider having a National WAG Selection Contest of your own. Note: Your top two scores count toward the "World Ranking". I think it would be great to have the US represented with the most pilots at the WAGs. For those of you on the West Coast (or nearby) that would like to compete in another WAG Selection Contest, ping me privately.
