the character encoding auto-detect option does not work at all anymore. I have
noticed the auto-detection does not work since the version 2.1 or 2.2.
At the moment I use 2.0.14 on my main PC and the auto-detection works fine. On
other PC with 2.6.1 the auto-detection does not work.
