My doctors told me that someone with TM will only have a re-occurrence if
they had underlying illness such as, MS, Sarcoidosis or some other autoimmune
disease. I can't imagine going back through what I went through(total
paralysis from neck down). It was hard enough to survive the

For about my first year of having TM, it always seemed as though I was
smelling burnt wood. At first, I thought it was the atmosphere in the
hospital,
but I went into a nursing facility, and it smells the same there. After the
nursing facility came home, and for a brief time, I smelled it
Hi Bobby Jim and Everyone,
A neurologist I saw in 2005, who herself has MS, told me that TM is now
considered under the "umbrella" of diseases covered by the MS foundation.
So, guess we are all in the same family now.

The reason there are so many responses when one of us blunders and says
something inside-out is because we each respond as soon as we read the email

This is how my neuro explained TM to me also. He said that TM is usually a
one-time occurrence and I should have already seen its worse affects on me.
He didn't give me any false hopes of further healing, but I also don't fear
getting worse. He called it status-quo.

A friend of ours developed MS for no particular reason. He didn't have
any injuries, etc. He just woke up one morning and was blind. The

woke up blind again.
