Something strange seemed to happen when I dropped a line to Rob, whereby
the world and his brother were sent a cc! I don't know how or why but hope
this hasn't caused a problem.

Janet, that's not acceptable. Doctors have lost their jobs for less!

On the subject of the need for a neurologist, I was discharged by mine
after two years on the grounds that there was nothing else to be done to
help me. This leaves me in care of my GP practice where there is now no
doctor with any knowledge of TM. Their only function for me is to renew my

Hi, yes I'm still here although I'm never quite sure whether I should be.
I seem to be the only UK contributor and would like to say thanks everyone
for including me. I miss the regular emails and have joined Facebook with
a view to making contact there.

I agree. Feeling sorry for myself as my 70th approaches and my third year
with TM but I can get around with a cane and know things could be so much
worse. How sad to be struck so severely and so young.

Hello Everyone - A Happy New Year to all. Just saw ice dancing king,
Christopher Dean, praising these wristbands. I have no hopes of taking to
the ice, although I did enjoy roller skating back in the day, but has
anyone tried these bands for balance problems caused by TM damage?

Maybe I can share with the group my recently discovered brilliant "aid".
They are fingerless gloves with a flip-over section which when in place
makes them look like mittens. This top easily peels back to enable fiddling
with purse, etc. without your hands seizing up with the cold.

Wonder if any of my fellow TMers have experience of Sativex, particularly
for banding? I'm due to see my neurologist next month and would appreciate
any info before raising the possibility of a trial. I see it can be of use
for over active bladder problems which would be helpful but there is no

Still here, enjoying summer at home rather than Southend University Hospital

Once again, I am so thankful to have found this group. I had no previous
knowledge of myelin regeneration and at last have some understanding of what
has taken place to cause the residual banding and numbness.
My story, briefly, is that in May last year I had a series of 'episodes'
over 5 days tha
I'd like to say thanks for welcoming me to the group. Friends and relatives
are kind and supportive but have no knowledge of the condition and it's hard
to explain what I am experiencing as I have never known anything like it
before. Do you have many UK members?
Best wishes

Sorry, as well as being comparatively new to TM, I'm fairly new to the
computer also - I have accidentally deleted your most recent notes and would
like to just thank you for your helpful advice and encouragement.

I was diagnosed with transverse myelitis in May 2009. My symptoms developed
over a few days and I was discharged from hospital after 6 weeks with
partial recovery in my right arm but have residual numbness and tightness
through most of my body. I have progressed to getting about with a wheely
