re: Cranberry and Coumadin. As long as your INR is within the range it is supposed to be in then there is no problem. Continue doing as you are and advise your MD that this is what you have been doing for 2 yrs with no problems, but if the INR were to get too high then you should cut down/stop taking them. Also too many leafy green (dark green) are not recommended when on Coumadin... Marieke

Hi Grace, Sorry to hear that people have nothing better to do than chastise someone for writing in all caps. Even though I personally find it a little harder to read, I do not delete those messages. I just take more time in reading them. Everyone's messages are important to me. Carol in Culver, IN ----- Original Message ----- From: Grace M. Though I don't use caps, I do use large font. I have to, in order to see what I am writing. Recently, one of the long term members of the TMIC, who is also a personal friend of mine, received an extremely obnoxious email regarding this. (Complete with *language*.) You know, this little group is for the most part---wonderful. It was the very first site that I discovered at the time of my NMO diagnosis, and I have been made to feel at home here. It's like having a virtual *family*. This unnecessary haranguing, of a long standing member, has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Think of it this way: In the big scheme of things, say, ten years from now, is it really going to *matter* if someone had to use caps in order to communicate? I know that I, for one, will certainly not be thinking about something as trivial as that whenever I prepare to meet my Maker. Let's put it to rest, okaye? This was sent to me and he aked if I could post it to the group. I looked in up online and found that the Cranberry Extract Pills call also call blood thinning. Does anyone who takes it or has knowledge of it have any more information. Thanks Jenna ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: robert hennessy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Jenna <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, January 6, 2008 1:31:18 PM Subject: RE: [TMIC] Listen Jenna-You seem like a really nice person I don't normally write much on this organization but could you forward my inquiry onto others. I was reading the precautions on my coumadin prescription & it said not to ingest any cranberry products. (juice, etc) This really wouldn't be a big deal except I really need to take cranberry extract pills 3 X a day to help alleviate burning in my urinary tract system. I have been taking these two (coumadin & cranberry extract) for months now & haven't suffered any adverse effects. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions for something other than cranberry that I could take? Or should I just continue on taking it? Thank you very much- Bobby Date: Sat, 5 Jan 2008 14:05:16 -0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [TMIC] Listen To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Tmic-list@eskimo.com Hi Gunny! Thanks for posting this. Be sure & cancel your credit cards before you die. This is so priceless, and so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today. A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February & March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and then added late fees & interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00, now it's somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank: Family Member: "I'm calling to tell you that she died in January." Citibank: "The account was never closed and the late fees & charges still apply." Family Member: "Maybe you should turn it over to collections." Citibank: "Since it is two months past due, it already has been ." Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?" Citibank: "Either report her account to the frauds division or report her to the credit bureau; maybe both!" Family Member: "Do you think God will be mad at her?" Citibank: "Excuse me?" Family Member: "Did you just get what I was telling you . . . the part about her being dead?" Citibank: "Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor" Supervisor gets on the phone. Family Member: "I'm calling to tell you, she died in January." Citibank: "The account was never closed and the late fees & charges still apply." Family Member: "You mean you want to collect from her estate?" Citibank: (Stammer) "Are you her lawyer?" Family Member: "No, I'm her great nephew." (Lawyer info given) Citibank: "Could you fax us a certificate of death?" Family Member: "Sure." (the fax number is given) After they get the fax ... Citibank: "Our system just isn't setup for death. I don't know what more I can do to help." Family Member: "Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. I don't think she will care." Citibank: "Well, the late fees & charges do still apply." Family Member: "Would you like her new billing address?" Citibank: "That might help." Family Member: "Odessa Memorial Cemetery, Highway 129, Plot Number 69." Citibank: "Sir, that's a cemetery!" Family Member: "What do you do with dead people on your planet?" -------------------------------------------------------------------- This email and any attachments contain information from Blackwell which may be confidential, privileged and/or protected by other legal rules.
