Having previously reported a problem with Tor browser automaximizing
itself on my small Ubuntu Unity screen [bugs.torproject.org/9738], I
decided my life was too easy and switched my OS to Debian with GNOME 3.
In case you aren't aware, this is a problem because

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but you not wanting to disclose details
about those "other fail safe systems" publicly sounds a lot like security
through obscurity which certainly is not a good idea.
