If SBS is running on the laptop, then yes, you can plug the Touch
directly into the laptop. You WILL have to set a static IP address on
the Touch and the laptop (on the same subnet of course), unless the
laptop is setup as a DHCP server (which is extremely rare). If the
Touch tries to connect to a

Coupon is dead for the Touch, but still works on the Boom and SB Radio.
I'm frustrated that I missed it by 40 minutes. My brother ordered a
Touch and the coupon worked, and when I tried it 40 minutes later, it
was dead. Called Logitech and they said it should still work, but

Ok. Got it. I already have the Touch and I love it. Just trying to
explore an alternative way of connecting without buying any more little
gadgets to establish a wireless hookup.
I saw that add for the cheap priced Touch. Great deal.
Thanks for your help.

I'll do with it (I already have a receiver and SB3 in the closet not

yes, I'm almost sure, but wait for confirmation from someone else to be
100%. However, I am 100% sure that you can do the following: Buy a
cheap WIFI router ($49 maybe). Hook it up at your cabin. Connect your
laptop to the router with ethernet (preferred method). Then you can put
the TOUCH and th

I think you can, but if it is tied to your laptop, why not just use
Squeezeplay running on your laptop with speakers attached to laptop. If
you don't like your laptop soundcard, you can even spend a couple of
hundred bucks on a USB DAC between the laptop and the powered speakers.

Sorry if this has already been addressed in previous threads, but I am
new to the Squeezebox Touch.
I would like to know if I can simply connect the laptop (with the
Squeezebox server and music files) to the Touch directly with an
ethernet cable only. I do not want to use any wireless or internet

Hi Folks,
I have a recurring problem with my Touch, used with a directly connected

Drobo into my laptop.I do this when I have a few cd's to rip as doing
it over the network with Drobo still attached to the Touch is a slow

My idea of a good playlist system is like this:
I can listen to an album, if I want to start a new playlist, I press
the "More/+"-button and the current song will be the start of the new
playlist. Then I can browse through my music collection, and when I
find a song that I want to hear next, I pre
I use a modded 7510,and Gary (Gazjam) has previously brought his modded
Caiman over to compare. The Caiman is better but not hugely so.The best
mods IMO to do to the7510 are the passive mod,and then feed the dac
with a good linear supply. Both of these will give you a big jump in
sound quality.
