I now have the same problem as the OP. Problem started after my SBT was
upgraded to 7.6 by mysb.com. I was going to skip the upgrade for a
while but accidentally went thru with it. For me, it looks like goes
from screensaver when off to the now playing screen. It does say 'when
off' at the top
I've always used wav files since I purchased my original Slim Devices
branded Squeezebox 3. Except for one brief hiccup, it's always worked
well until 7.6. If all the other formats are not going to be supported
appropriately, then it's disingenuous to the point of outright lying

Go to Home/Advanced/Squeezebox Server/ Wipe and Rescan. Should rescan
your whole library and pick up any updates.

I have a 2,5" WD Elements HDD attached to my new Touch.
First scan was pretty easy.
Yesterday I did some changes to some ID3 tags (the HDD is mounted as a
network drive on my notebook).
But the changes do not appear on the Touch.
I tried to stop/restart the internal server on the Touch - no luck w

Use firewire as a connection between what?
If you mean have a firewire drive plugged into your Mac with your music
on it, rather than a USB drive used in the same way, there's no
difference as far as SBS is concerned.

Whether any of this applies to your HD I dunno.
Touch and USB / SD Troubleshooting
USB or SD card devices
- Check the formatting of the device, Touch supported formats: FAT16,
FAT32, NTFS, ext2, ext3
- Touch can only see/use a single partition, format as a single
partition

Well, I have an USB drive with external power supply.
However, it doesn't work either.
At the end of the scanning process, I get the error message "Local
Music service stopped due to an error"
Unreliable as hell.

The Touch can be fickle about USB powered drives, externals with their
own power seem to do better. Also you will need to wait until the
Touch has finished running it's scan, and that could take a couple of
hours depending on how many files you have on the drive. Also won't
play the older iTunes
Anyone using TinySC on 7.6 and wants to share the experience?
Here the scanning process stops at 98% with an error message...
Is there any logfile for TinySC?

Guys - I've identified the issue which lead to WMP downloaded files (and
other hidden artwork) no longer being recognized. This issue should be
fixed in r32931 - which should be available from the nightly downloads
shortly.

Phhh, after x hours of manually deleting embedded cover art on
14t.000 songs the 7.6.0 cover art now works. Thus, I can not do any

I had the same problem with the cover artwork. I delete the cache folder
and restart the scan again. Now it works fine for me...:-)

Make sure you have started the TinySBS scan. Select USB from home menu,
then "Start SqueezeBox Server".
Also make sure the HD is a single partition drive.

This was the case when the playlist folder was the same as the music
folder. Should be fixed in latest nightly builds.
