200mV input sensitivity that is simply silly :) Touch is about 2V rms
(ten times that 2000mV) the power amp direct input has a more reasonable
1.6V input
High input sensitivity is also typic

Again: that was IRBlaster...
When you enable IRBlaster and hence disable digital volume control you
could select the volume level. The question is whether this works with
the Touch.

Touch does not have the preamp volume that SB3 have only the the digital
volume controll .
I'm still trying to remember what plugin that was that could fix volumes
at selected levels , but that only works when using ones own server .
There is ofcourse the possibility of hacking some files direct
Irblaster can do this for the older Squeezeboxes, I don't know whether
it would work for the Touch as well.

no idea about the M1 DAC, but I like my Benchmark DAC I connected to a
TOUCH (via S/PDIF coax). It is not night and day difference. I do like
the ability to use Balance
This may seem like a silly question but, if the SBT DAC is so good, why
would anyone use a M1 DAC? Thanks.

I haven't checked the Touch, but the SB3 has a preamp volume setting
which is accessed via the Server Settings-->Player--->Audio-->Preamp
Volume Control.
The help text in the settings states: This is a secondary volume control
which applies only to the analog outputs on Squeezebox. Enter the amou
What kind of amp do you have now , I find that they vary a lot but the
output level of the Touch is "normal" it similar to what most CD players
have .
You are not trying to use the phono input ? Instead of aux or CD or
anything , the phone input is strictly for turntables .
Don't you guy don't have this problem that only 5% of your volume
control is used on your stereo amps?
Turning it further is too loud for the living room...?
I remember Pioneer amps have a much better volume range/control on their
amps.

I think there once was a plugin that could do that ?
However I would suggest inline atenuators like the ones from rothwell ,
they take down the volume by -10dB is that enough ?

If your a DIY person there is a description in the wiki o

Yes,
Is it possible to set maximum volume on the Touch at 50% (instead of
100%) I have too less volume control on my stereo amp.
Turn the volume on my stereo amp for 10°, volume goes to very loud and i
want it to rise less fast.
