The Touch and Radio were both pre-announced officially on September 3rd:

There were some leaks before that, but both products were announced before they
shipped.

We tested a bunch of 2.5" USB powered packaged drives and found that the ones
that came with extra cables to steal power from a second USB port didn't work
on Touch with it's single port.
All the drives that only had a single USB port and no extra connection for
power worked fine.
The drive yo
Ah, "sample rate drift". Very interesting. Sounds likes samples are being
dropped.
Is it possible to do this with the digital output?

If this is reproducible (i.e. measurable) then it's a serious bug in
Transporter and would need to be fixed. Same with Touch.

I think it's fair to say that the team is working hard to release Touch as soon
as possible.
The hardware is done (and in fact has already been accidentally sold), it's the
software that's not quite finished.
It's an ambitious product and predicting software schedules is hard.

Wait, I thought the whole point of the journal was to handle
unexpected disconnects more gracefully. Per Wikipedia:
A journaling file system is a file system that logs changes to a
journal (usually a circular log in a dedicated area of the file
system) before committing them to the main fil

The current beta units support EXT3, but not EXT4.

For under $150 dollars, you'll have to go with a one-way remote, like
one of the Harmony models. Unfortunately, the screen doesn't really
add anything in this case, except some soft buttons.
I'd have to recommend either a Controller or iPod touch if you want to
be able to browse your music

It's a slang term for a musical instrument (the accordion), among
other things. :)
Plus it has "box" at the end, which is nice for a piece of equipment.
Plus it made me smile.
Nothing too exciting:
1. Fourth-generation Squeezebox, replacing the Squeezebox 3 (aka
Squeezebox Classic)
2. The "Fab Four" was a nickname for the Beatles.
Coincidentally, the code name for the i.MX35 CPU in Fab4 was "Ringo",
which was a nice bit of fate.

I'm using one of these with my Touch right now:

If you aren't using the USB port, then it should be fine.

Yes, that's the setup I have in my kitchen (though instead of a
Transporter, I'm just using a Receiver.

It's more important to upgrade your access point to 802.11n than the
clients.

Actually, the amperage is higher on the Touch power supply, it's 3
amps, instead of 2, due to the extra power needed by the USB port.
