Thanks for the other power supply links.
Turns out, as noted elsewhere, if not using the USB input, 2.5 A is
sufficient to fully power the Touch and I.R. sensor. I tried my old
Elpac WM075-1950 linear power supply (5W 2.5A, used elsewhere with an
SB3) works perfectly. Fidelity is great, and my
+1 to replacing the A/C adapter first, before performing major surgery
to replace the IR sensor. That solved the problem in my case as well.
Long live the SB Touch!

Actually, upon further review, looks like this one
I need a new Touch A/C adapter to "fix" my remote control sensing issue,
as noted in another thread. Rather than buying another OEM adapter, I'd
prefer to get a medical grade linear power supply (vs. one of the $250+
audiophile grade ones). I found this Inventus (formerly Elpac) linear

Depending upon the speakers you're using with your NAD receiver, you may
or may not, notice a significant improvement with an outboard DAC. If
you have a highly resolving setup, it might be worth the effort.
Previously, I used a Benchmark DAC-1 with my Touch, and it was slightly
better than the
as Class D. I would consider the new Touch to be
Class B (arguably C, with it's native DAC), but clearly Class A (if
judged strictly as a digital server feeding an outboard DAC).
Hopefully S'phile will post a correction in a future issue.

Thanks John, that really clarifies things.
Oh well, guess I'll have to be content with digital coax out to my
Benchmark, until I upgrade to a new-and-improved DAC down the road.

I sure hope some of these "software tweaks" will find their way into a
future firmware upgrade.

Logitech will (eventually) realize that Amazon can move a far greater
number of units, not to mention the added marketing clout.

Unfortunately, I only have the one flash drive, but will borrow one to
test.
BTW, can the Touch handle 24/96 FLAC tracks streamed directly from a
USB Flash Drive?

The USB Flash Drive is fully readable (and playable) in my Win 7
laptop, so I know it works.
Kinda embarrassing as I was trying to "show off" the capabilities of
the Touch!

If you have a Palm WebOS smartphone (Pre or Pixi family), the new
Squeeze Control app works exceedingly well, at least with Squeezebox
Server 7.5 and files streaming from a NAS. Not sure if it will work
with files served off a local USB drive.

Might want to consider the Palm Pre/Plus or Pixi Plus, now that the
Squeeze Control App has been released. Assuming you want to use the
phone for other functions as well, Palm's (now HP's!) multi-tasking
WebOS has lots to offer.

that helps. Hopefully Logitech (or somebody) will create a larger font

Frankly, Logitech is losing a LOT of marketshare to rivals who are
