When I set my SBT up last night, the first thing the unit did was update
to the latest firmware. When I pushed the power button on the remote
control it effectively went into standby and the clock showed up - as I
had set.

No. I Run Tiny SC. Just Toch alone with a usb harddrive. It worked
before I "updated" to 7.5...

Is your touch connected to any server?
Power off does not seem to work if the touch is not connected to a
server.

I run Tiny SC 7.6.
Suddenly the Touch wants to "update" to 7.5.
i agree to do this. But after the update nothing happens when I press
the red button on the remote :(
