That is good. I think the exception is when the receiver for the Duet is
connected to the internet via cable (no wifi router used) - not sure
what encryption the controller use for communicating with the receiver
in such setup.

Yes. Any/all devices connected via WiFi are using whatever encryption
you have set.
All SB players & controllers are communicating through your router,
Thanks, you are being very helpful. Actually I don't know if all my
devices in my network are WPS-compatible... my router is (totally
forgot all about that button because my other hardwired router, same
brand, has the same configuration menu).
About the security issue - I was thinking about how e
If you have a WPS-aware router, it should be sufficient to press the
"Connect" Button on your router and select Configure-by-WPS on the
Touch/Radio/Controller.
In this case, the router will send the WLAN parameters including the
PSK (encrypted) to your SqueezeBox.

Thanks. You are probably right flattermann, WPA2 is much more secure
than WEP so it shouldn't be necessary to changed it often (unless you
think it could have been leaked somehow).
Thanks peterw, I was looking for an easy way to change it through the

Thinking about this a bit more, I think the newer players (Radio and
Touch) may support WiFi Protected Setup (Logitech did ask Touch beta
testers to try the WPS feature). That wouldn't help with your Receiver,
but might be a good way to re-key your WLAN, including your Radio.

Thanks to both of you and sorry for my late reply. That's a shame - it
is recommended to change the network key from time to time, so it
should be possible to do without knowing linux (not sure it would work
if I tried).
Logitech - you should change it if possible!
What about security? I work fr
How are your linux skills? The wifi info, including key, is almost
certainly stored in cleartext in a (wpa_supplicant?) config file on
Radio/Touch/Controller. With Remote Login enabled, you should be able
to script changing that & rebooting the Squeezebox. You might need the

Unfortunately, no. We asked in beta about such editable fields (MySB
login & password, encryption passphrase, etc..) but that idea was not
well received.
You could try the NET/UDAP hack for the older players (SB3/Boom/Duet)
but I don't think it works with the new players (Touch/Radio).

Hi,
My Duet and Radio are both connected to my wireless router. I would
like to change my network key (63 random alpha-numeric characters), but
I really don't want to reset everything because it takes forever to
change. The controller doesn't allow changing just the network key (as
