And touch will handle hires 24/96. 24/192 with edo even if using spdif
or optical. Although someone posted that oppo only handles 24/96. Don't
know.

But using optical and spdif out of the touch will use the oppo Dac too.
Either I'm confused or you are. ;-)

Thanks gary. Will do. I wanted to use the USC to take advantage of the
DAC in the Oppo. Although i dont have that many Hi-res file.

Try it as a test. I don't thin
Thanks Gary, Im only rebooting because wht SBT does it automatically
when i switch the audio output from oppo dac to analog/digital.I'm
afraid that i'll need to do the same when switching from optical into
the oppo and rCA from SBT to marantz.

No, but at least you won't have to reboot to switch between digital and
analog. Why do you require the USB connection?
But if i use optical or coax from the SBT to the Oppo, i dont believe
that will solve my problems with using my multiroom on my marantz?

Yes. I understand. That's why I recommended optical or spdif instead of
usb where a reboot is likely not

see earlier comment. This is because this is going from OPPO into Analog
input of receiver (via RCA). I don't have an oppo, so can't help there.
But when you plug the USB from the TOUCH i

Hi Gary, actually yes. I just tried a CD. This input from the oppo to a
CD Input via RCA.

which would be better, as you'd be then using the DAC from the oppo vs
the Touch DAC. And I assume one reason you wanted the oppo was to use
its DAC.
It's normal for AVRs with multiroom to need an analogue connection for
multiroom use. My NAD is the same. It won't output anything input via a
digital or 5.1 connection to other zones.
Does the Oppo not have a separate stereo analogue output you could use
for this?

I have the touch connected into the AVR via RCA into a AUX input. When i
play the touch via USB it wont play multichannel. The only way I can
achieve this is by changing the audio on the touch from oppo to
analog/digital audio, then select AUX on my receiver. I must be doing
something wrong?

Yes i have the touch connected into the oppo via USB and into my AVR via
RCA. I figured out that if i hit the A/D button(into analog) the
processing bypasses the AVR. But I cant figure how to bypass the oppo
processing when i want to listen through the AVR. When i select the A/D
button back to dig
#2 I'd check with Oppo for settings or limitations when using USB
input. Might be limited to digital out or one output type?

Ok i finally got it to work. A couple of questions.
1) When I play the SBT, I notice that my Marantz and oppo are both
processing the sound. When i have the volume turned up on the AVR there
is sound coming out and competing with the oppo(in fact, it sounds
slightly more delayed or faster). I can
Ok thanks. I just ran EDO with the touch hooked into the oppo via USB.
The touch does not give me a choice to select the oppo after
installation. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I see a choice for digital
output and digital and analog output. Neither one gives me sound. Btw
I'm running 7.7.2-r33893

Yes, as garymmpointedbout, USB won't work without EDO.
Guido F.
I know that's why I'm trying to get the USB to work w/the touch into the
Oppo. I tried a different USB. still no luck.BTW, do I need to run EDO
in order for the USB connection to work?

USB only works with edo. And even then only some DACs.

Im trying to set up my New Oppo with my SBT via USB. I have the SBT plug
into the OPPO USB in and the Oppo hooked into my Marantz SR7005 via 5.1
analog connection. I cant get my SBT to work. I have selected USB on the
Oppo input. Thanks!
