Do not use replay gain or tag those DTS/ac3 flac/wav with such tags,
this will be the same as not having 100% volume and would bust the
decoding.
And don't use crossfade.

If you are talking about something like Dolby Digital or DTS then the
Touch cannot do that. It sends out standard two channel PCM S/PDIF.
There is a way to fake this, you can get DTS or Dolby Digital
multi-channel files encoded as standard two channel WAV files, these
will play on the Touch as l
