And meanwhile, anyone wanna bet that the right-wing talk hosts will be
making a big deal about that Vietnamese anthem performed on last night's
show praising the glories of socialism--which played at the end under the
credits besides being the basis for the Road Block? If it wasn't for this

The casting of the show has always been obvious--find people with
restaurant experience who are self-absorbed douchebags and have Chef Ramsay
scream at them for 13 weeks, punctuated by unctuous narration and that
WHHHEEEAAG! guitar sound that the reality show music writers love so
much.

The one season I gave it a shot (the only reality comp I've ever watched)
it became obvious that a very bad chef was being kept around for drama.
When we thought the best possible chef was bounced in favor of the very bad
one in the next to last episode, I turned off the TV and said to my wife,

That's been pretty much every season of "Hell's Kitchen" (and the original
British version was with D-list celebrities instead of civilians).

The impression I got from the first ep of this version of HK was that the
producers were less interested in casting talented and capable chefs than
they were in creating "drama." The official policy of the show seems to
have become "Let's make Ramsay yell and colorfully insult the staff" rather

Ok, first, while Joey & Meghan are fine as racers, their personalities would
make me want to throat-punch them if I ever met them in person. (And when did
"YouTube host" become a profession?)
Back on topic - I'd argue that yes, John & Jessica are the dumbest racers in
the history of the game -
I still like them better than what I deem to be the most unlikable reality
show cast I've ever seen, the new 'Hell's Kitchen'. There is not one chef I
am inclined to root for (and or course, having a rooting interest in a
contestant(s) is how these shows survive) with many appearing to be

I thought John and Jessica were far more bleagh than Joey and Meghan. Joey
and Meghan are okay to me.

Best part of the whole fiasco was Phil's "Oy vey" in the tag.
I have to give the TAR crew credit for two consecutive seasons with utterly
unlikeable teams, topped by the loathsome Joey and Meghan.
