Bug appears for me on Ubuntu 16.04 using a speedlink mouse.
The problem is not present when using a logicetch mouse.

An echo of your command (except the ls bit) gives:
/usr/lib/pulse-1.1 /usr/lib/pulse-1.1
so I guess there should be no need for a symlink in my case.
