Didn't work in Edgy. Was hoping it would be fixed in Gutsy. But same

After sleep and resume, I get a black screen and it's unresponsive.

Info pasted. Btw I had the same problem in Edgy also. I upgraded to see
if it went away in Feisty but it's still there. I don't remember Breezy
having this issue. But I could be mistaken.

constant tapping sound from speakers. Even if I turn mute the s/w volume
in ubuntu, I still hear it.
