Does this happen with all applications or only with some?
Applications should embed fonts into their PostScript output. If they do
not do so, report a bug against the application(s).
Many Postscript printer support also PCL. Try the "Generic PCL 6/XL
printer" or the "Generic PCL 5c printer" as mo
Installing ppd file or using generic postscrips works, but the results
do not satisfy. Screen fonts are substituted with printer fonts what
leads into dearranged layouts when printing i.e. a webpage with firefox.

Since your printer supports PostScript it should be enouh to install the PPD
file that is in the linux driver package that can be downloaded from the
Lexmark website.
You can install the PPD file by clicking "Install driver ..." in gnome-cups-add.
