cyclone crashed with SIGS
Sorry, Now, I use Mesa and Ubuntu 9.04
$ glxinfo | grep vendor
server glx vendor string: SGI
client glx vendor string: SGI
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa Project
$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) \n \l
The screensaver doesn't crash. But if I change to fglrx, maybe.

Does running "/usr/lib/xscreensaver/cyclone" from a terminal and hitting
"q" to quit give the same crash?

Yes, for me crash when return to show the screen (on quitting). See
related screensaver (same behaviour)

The trace shows that this bug occurs when the main loop returns.
The code in driver.cpp looks fine at first glance.
When I quit on my machine it is fine. I cannot see any glaring
differences apart from fglrx and i386.
Can someone using fglrx and i386 confirm that cyclone crashes on
quitting?
