I have tested this bug with 2.6.33-020633rc8-generic and brightness still will not change, even though the notification area says it is changing. it seems that the scripts that are being called are /etc/acpi/asus-brn- down.sh and /etc/acpi/asus-brn-up.sh, they display the notification but do not

I agree with buzz and can confirm that one still needs to insert the keys needing the forced key release. Also, the main reason why this bug was opened, the brightness does not change and sadly the nvclock or smartdimmer method is not an option for me (p560 has Intel GMA4500X) I have not yet foun

This report still has some valid points. Although the 2.6.32 kernel now supports the serio force_release sysfs node, the users of the samsung p560 still have to insert which keys needs the forced key release. At the moment i do not know of any database which handels those cases, do you? Furthermor
