[Bug 2106293] Re: Gnome Shell eats 100% of the CPU on 22.04
Those messages are bug 1857392, but it's a harmless symptom of other more important issues. Generally it means ubuntu-dock (or dash-to-dock) has restarted. This happens every time the screen is unlocked, but if it happens more regularly then it can mean the system is receiving monitor hotplugging events. This can happen with a badly connected monitor or low quality display cable. I would not call yours a flooded log though, since the issue is minutes apart it's more likely just the lock screen triggering bug 1857392. So not related to this bug. Cable connection problems can come and go so comparing it to past behaviour isn't definitive. But certainly each new Ubuntu release has some new bugs. [Bug 2106293] Re: Gnome Shell eats 100% of the CPU on 22.04
It looks like that Dell monitor may be to blame, or its cable. Because the Xorg server seems to be saying it's getting a logical reconnection every second or so. Also since the bug may be display protocol related and I can't see a good reason for this configuration to be on Xorg, please try selecting the Wayland session at the login screen. It will either be called 'Ubuntu on Wayland' or just 'Ubuntu'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106293 Title: Gnome Shell eats 100% of the CPU on 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2106293/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2106293] Re: Gnome Shell eats 100% of the CPU on 22.04
Unless your log is being obviously flooded (journalctl -f), we can't say how or if having many write calls is really a bug. It could just be a misbehaving client connection (an app) that's overly busy. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106293 Title: Gnome Shell eats 100% of the CPU on 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2106293/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
