[Bug 2109692] Re: Failed automatic external monitor detection via Thunderbolt dock
I also confirm the screen flickering issue after wake from suspend. After resuming, the external monitor appears to refresh only when there is screen activity. If the screen is static, with no animations and no mouse movement, the display becomes completely black, as if nothing is being refreshed. When there is activity, for example moving the mouse cursor or triggering a redraw, the image reappears but flickers continuously while updates are happening. Once activity stops, the screen goes black again. The workaround I use is turning the external monitor off and on. [Bug 2109692] Re: Failed automatic external monitor detection via Thunderbolt dock
Thanks for the analysis and suggestions. Following up on your points: I've checked the BIOS for options related to Thunderbolt or display routing between the integrated and dedicated graphics, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any such setting. I've also tested connecting the docking station via all the USB-C ports available on my system, but this didn't change the outcome – the monitor is still not detected at startup. Regarding drivers, I've already tried several Nvidia driver versions, including those potentially available via 'Additional Drivers', as well as the open-source Xserver 'nouveau' driver, and none of these attempts resulted in the external monitor being detected. I also tried different PRIME profiles without result. [Bug 2109692] Re: Failed automatic external monitor detection
Thanks. It seems the kernel itself can't see any external monitor connected. It's also interesting the Nvidia card isn't reporting any display connectors exist. This makes me wonder if the Thunderbolt port is wired to Nvidia instead of Intel. Can you configure that in the BIOS?
