I have done some testing. The camera disappears during suspend/resume when the power is plugged in. If the laptop is on a battery during suspend/resume it comes back fine. Hi, I am seeing the same issue on the same hardware. After suspend a working camera disappears from the hardware list. lsusb doesn't show it anymore. After reboot it shows up again. Reloading uvcvideo module does not bring it back and it happened two times in a row now so it's reproducible. Thanks a lot for the feedback, @binli! I had restarted my computer, so the webcam works now. I've updated the system firmware from v0.1.15 to v0.1.17, I will see if it improves the situation. If not, next time I run into it, I will try to modprobe the uvcvideo module. We have the same camera on ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 AMD, I tried do suspend 5 times, I could not reproduce this issue, even I was waiting for more than 30 minutes. And this issue might be related to these factors. We need confirm if it's a driver issue or firmware issue. * USB Autosuspend Conflict: The Linux kernel tries to save power by putting USB devices to sleep. Sometimes, the camera's firmware doesn't wake up fast enough, causing the "Invalid Argument" error. From the syslog, I could find the error of usb 1-1 after suspend. In the Linux kernel, Error -22 corresponds to EINVAL (Invalid Argument). When your ThinkPad T14 woke up, the power management (PM) system tried to "resume" the USB device. However, the camera (or the USB controller) responded with data that the driver didn't expect or couldn't understand. Because the resume failed, the kernel decided the device was unreliable and forced a USB disconnect to protect the system's stability.
