When upgrading to the 2.6.27-14-server kernel yesterday, I could verify

I installed the PPA, Bryce (thanks!) but the freeze happened again to me
last night. Had to reboot as usual, didn't have time to get the logs

Sorry for the delay in replying - work's been rather busy.
Switching to UXA solves this problem. The white screen is gone! Dual
screen behaves as expected.
Unfortunately somewhere in the set of updates which got installed
something else broke. About once per day, the entire screen just goes
black
This got fixed in the latest mesa xorg-edgers update.

Thanks for fixmtrr.sh !!.. it solved the slow performance problems in my
Intel 945GM running Ubuntu/Kubuntu 9.04.
BTW, I am using the older xserver-xorg-video-intel-2.4.
If I use the default xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.6.3, then fixmtrr.sh fixes the
performance issues, but causes screen corruptio
I forgot to mention two things:
*my graphic adapter is a Sapphire Radeon 4850 1GB
*my xorg.conf is empty (as after a fresh installation)
