I have exactly the same problem. Altough I'v noticed that mouse cursor theme
affect it (oddy enough!)
Reverting to default "Adwaita" mouse cursor theme corrected the issue.
Another issue, with non-default mouse theme and nouveau drivers, is the
mouse cursor lag.

I'm also affected by this bug. But it happens only when I'm using
google-chrome. When I open a new tab and begin to write some url, it
freezes completely, randomly. Nothing present in syslog, except, each

It appears that even the blob was experiencing the same issue [1]
Affected blob 180.44, fixed in 180.60. I would expect that a specific
quirk was added to handle the issue

It seems to be related to the /etc/rc.local script after all. I forgot
to disable the execution bits the last time; but now I've run chmod -x,
the problem really seems to be gone. I've done a fresh install and
rebooted over 20 times, but I haven't seen anything weird anymore.
So I think it's safe
