Same here, system freezes time to time. It seems started to freeze more
often recently.

My laptop has a 16:9 display. If I change the display mode (or a program
changes it) to a 4:3 resolution, the resulting image is stretched.

This behaviour only started to occour when I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 (I
also switched to Cinnamon from Unity, so as not to use the new privacy
invasive Amazon "features"). Other than that, same hardware and

The mouse does not freezes, for now.
I must say that I have been out of the house and used the touchpad for 3 days
before the BIOS update and it did not freeze either.
I do system updates every time they show up, so some of it might solved the
problem already... if it is really solved.
