I downgraded like the reporter and things appear to be working now.

My crash dialog says that "apport-gpu-error-intel.py", and when I report
it I get directed to log an error here under xserver-xorg-video-intel.
I assume this is intended behavior, and that apport isn't itself
actually crashing (contrary to my original post), but please let me know
if I should be lo
