I tried the 270.26 drivers and there were no improvement, I still got the ABI
error.
Since this version isn't even displayed on their beta driver page, maybe we can
expect another release in the next few days that would fix this issue.

in dmesg and the fact that modelines between Karmic and Lucid are the

I just noticed some weird error messages I dmesg when I switch resolutions :

Binary package hint: xorg
The laptop chipset is a ATI RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000] , everything is
ok at native resolution (1280x800) but when I try to switch to a lower
one, I get a black screen. The only one to work is 1024x768.

Ok, i've applied the patch and Gimp, Inkscape and MyPaint are behaving
perfectly with my Wacom tablet.
I've uploaded the fixed libgtk to my PPA :

binaries, you're good to go.

This bug has no reason to be fixed yet. Carlos Garnacho has released 3
patches yesterday for libgtk, and these patches have not yet been
applied on Karmic's libgtk.
I will try them out today and also I will try to repackage the patched
libgtk and upload it on my PPA if it fixes the bug.

The offset is the size of the menus and rulers in each drawing program.
Switch to full screen in MyPaint or remove menus and rulers in Gimp and there
is no offset anymore

I confirm this bug is related to window borders. This bug also occurs in
MyPaint with one exception : When in fullscreen mode (by pressing F11) ,
the screen is just one big drawing area and the tablet works as
expected.
