Totally random. I have one terminal application running and after 12
hours or so there are from two to six occurrences of the failure
notices. Drives me to drink.

post-installation script returned error exit status 1

/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/xdiagnose/assistant.py contains old
format print statements, without the brackets. Adding brackets allowed
process to continue but installation seemed to fail elsewhere.
