Try this as a workaround: edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment the
line:
#WaylandEnable=false
Then reboot. If that works then this is a duplicate of bug 1798790.

I could not use Other option in Apport becouse of choose package error
(ubuntu-bug) and this was the closest. To revert do I just uninstall the
envidia driver? I wanted to post the bug as soon as possible. Do not
know the drivers name.

issue related to the nvidia driver itself.
