Hi Nick,
If you're using the default nouveau driver there are some known issues
where textures can be corrupted if it can't find memory to allocate
for them. Best thing to do in that instance is to either install the
binary nvidia drivers or to run at a lower resolution.

Hi guys,
I'm a german guy and have a little problem with the unity desktop. I'm
using a Acer TravelMate 5742G with a Intel Core i5-460M (2 * 2,53GHz, 3MB
L3 cache), a Nvidia GeForce GT 420M and 15.6" HD monitor with a resolution
of 1366 and 768 px.
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 and everything was fine.
