Using Intrepid, I've got exactly the same problem with a multifunction printer
& scan HP C5280.
Notice that I'm using a laptop (Dell studio 17) with an integrated webcam.
XSane works without anuy problem.

I just updated my Jaunty this morning, and still having problems with Compiz :
Maximize/restore effect on a window seems to do nothing for 1 sec before the
window will really restore.
I noticed that it was the main effect with this problem,
Well scratch that thought. I can't figure out how to import the translation to
launchpad.
#launchpad wasn't too much help either:
It doesn't look like it was ever imported.
Which seems impossible.
It's certainly outside of common experience

Talkd does not seem to use the proper settings in inetd.conf. I believe
it should use 'udp4' rather than 'udp'. Changing this and adding the
'nobody' to the tty group seems to fix the permissions issues. This is

It seems this bug was introduced with the mesa 7.4 update: libgl1-mesa-
glx (7.4-0ubuntu1). Downgrading this package to the previous
7.3-1ubuntu4 version solved the problem for me.

Interesting. I, too, cannot reproduce the bug anymore. It seems that
upgrading to xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.6.3-0ubuntu9 resolves this bug.
xserver-xorg is 7.4~5ubuntu18. Compiz is stable for an hour now. Going

OK, so I looked at the code and I think I know what's going on here.
If you have the sound option set to either "Play on remote host" or
"Play on this host", the session is also being set to use the -0 option
of rdesktop. This causes your session to connect to the console instead
