This issue appears to be resolved in Karmic Alpha 2.
There is another bug that needs to be resolved. Desktop doesn't extend
across both of my 1440x900 monitors. So half of one monitor is unusable.
I'm guessing the desktop size is limited to 2048. I'll file a bug when /
if I have time.

Can a user do a similar thing with pam_pgsql when changing her password?
For example the operator precedence in pam_sm_chauthtok() line 696 is:

hum forgot to say that the bug either results in a black screen or white
stripes getting brighter and brigther and kernel mode setting obviously
won't work for this hardware as well with the same symptoms. The only
way to get a working X on this hardware for me is to plug a screen on
the VGA connec
