As glad as I am that this has been fixed in Edgy and that now we've got
mail-notification 3.0 with Evolution support, I don't think it makes
sense to backport this package until this related bug has been fixed:

In any case, the backport should be requested there fi
Please ignore my previous post. It was related to Evince and mozplugger,
not Acroread and mozplugger.
I've submitted a separate bug for that.
Sorry for the noise.

Related to this issue, viewing pdfs does not work for me, either.
I am using Evince as a pdf viewer, and in order to get it working with
Epiphany/Firefox I added the following to /etc/mozpluggerrc:

This seems to work for a couple of times, i.e. I
After having patched libbonobo2-0 (file descriptor leak) and mail-

on my system:

Sorry, I forgot to add that the patched mail-notification package seems
to work well on my Dapper system.
I can monitor my Evolution 2.6 Inbox with no trouble.
However, there is something else to have into account, and that is that
a bug in libbonobo, which mail-notification uses, can lead to cra
Any chance anyone could review the patch?
Thanks.

Just a note regarding gDesklets in Dapper:
After upgrading to Dapper and recompiling gDesklets 0.35.3, the FTB gauges seem
to also work fine there.
BTW, after reading the number of posts on the ubuntu forums regarding this
issue, I can't believe this bug is still unconfirmed...

I can confirm that.
This seems to be a bug related to GTK 2.8 and has apparently been fixed in
gDesklets version 0.35.3. See comment #28 on this thread for more info:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=78346&page=3
However, the version available from the Breezy repos is still 0.35.2,
I'll give it a go, but I can't promise anything.
I'm on Dapper now, but ATM I haven't compiled any symbolic debug info or
installed any packages for that.
I can just say that I'll try.
