The bug report in Debian was marked fixed in May 2006 with the version
2005-2 of texlive-lang-polish, which is the version in Edgy. The
solution was to mark texlive-lang-polish as conflicting it with octave-
forge, thus you cannot install both of them together in Debian or in
Ubuntu.

The newest plugin is indeed in Dapper. But it is my understanding that
the older plugin is the only ones available for Hoary/Breezy; thus these
2 Ubuntu versions are in theory still vulnerable to CVE 2005-2628 and

Ubuntu Dapper now has gazpacho 0.6.6 which most probably solves this bug
(according to comments in Bug #37566).
I'll mark this bug report fixed. If you find that it is still occuring
