As Debian (and thus Ubuntu) are afraid of linking against libssl-dev, I just added support for hashing with libgcrypt (instead of libcrypto) in GQ trunk. Unfortunately I'm quite busy right now, and I only added MD5 for the libgcrypt build. It would be very great if someone went ahead to implement
