I cannot reproduce this bug in 32bit Jaunty (qemu 0.10.0-1ubuntu1,
without kqemu, running under VirtualBox 2.1.4). Perhaps this bug has
finally been fixed/gone away?

Confirmed In 8.04 / 32 bit, I have the same problem exactly. Upstream qemu
binary package works fine with smp.
I'll check debian later.

I cannot reproduce this with the qemu in 8.10, but I also switched to
64bit. My 8.04 install was 32bit. Maybe this is a 32bit only bug.

In 8.10 I was able to set up an XP VM with 2 processors in Virt-manager
but when it booted up it froze. Now with 1 processor it boots up just
fine.
