believe that a Debian team are working on it and their package will
merge with Ubuntu soon.

There is currently a packaging effort underway for both GnomeSword (just
recently renamed to Xiphos) and BibleTime. This will update BibleTime to
use the newer sword library. As soon as the updated BibleTime is
available, I will post back here (should be within a week).

There's currently a team forming for jointly maintaining the CrossWire
packages (e.g. sword, gnomesword, bibletime) for Ubuntu and Debian.
The current package maintainer in Debian has just created a new
mailing list and has invited everyone who is interested to join:

I will try to package an update, _if_ anyone can complete it before me
however feel free to try. This should be finished by Wednesday next week
or even earlier if things go well.

Could an update to Gnomesword be included in the repositories? Gnomesword on
their website is up to version 2.4.1 and includes many features not included in
the version 2.2.3.
Note that an update to Biblememorizer will also be needed as Biblememorizer
version 0.5.2 seems to have some errors with
