We are having some problem using Apache's htacess for a folder and
together with LDAP authentication module for another website
hosted on the same web server running Apache-1.3.32 with PHP,
Mysql,SSL.

Tx for the reply, yes I understand now what is happening. There is another file
added to the apache2 version (called default) which has another override
command that needed comenting out. From what I can remember from apache 1.x
this was all done from the http.confg file.
